ANGELS

A Human Network of Trust and Capabilities

ANGELS is a distributed human network within ECOSYSTEM VLG world.

It brings together people, organisations and contributors who can provide knowledge, skills, experience, connections or operational support to the communities, territories, programmes and projects supported by the ecosystem.

ANGELS is based on a simple principle: when facing complex situations, an isolated capability is not always enough.

Connecting reliable, skilled and responsible people makes it possible to progressively build networks capable of supporting action, cooperation, resilience and community autonomy.

A Distributed Network

ANGELS is neither a centralised organisation nor a single hierarchical structure.

The network can develop around a territory, a community, a field of expertise or a specific situation.

Areas of contribution may include:

project management and project support;
mediation and governance;
humanitarian action;
education and knowledge transmission;
water, health, food and essential capabilities;
technology and digital systems;
security and cybersecurity;
prevention and territorial resilience;
protection of populations, nature and animals;
cooperation and peace processes;
research, experimentation and innovation.

This list is not exhaustive. The capabilities mobilised depend on the actual needs encountered.

ANGELS and the Incubation Architecture

ANGELS is one of the human resources that can be mobilised within the ECOSYSTEM VLG world incubation architecture.

Angels may contribute to programmes developed through LABELS — Global Incubator, support territorial dynamics within CUB — Local Incubators, or contribute to specific projects when their capabilities are relevant.

They may also help identify local expertise and progressively strengthen capabilities that already exist within territories.

The objective is not to replace local actors, but to facilitate connections and transmission so that capabilities can circulate, develop and become locally anchored.

Who Can Become an Angel?

An Angel may be an individual or, depending on the initiative concerned, a representative of an organisation.

This may include:

a professional with specific expertise;
a researcher, teacher or expert;
an entrepreneur or project leader;
a member of an association or NGO;
a mediator or community actor;
a field practitioner;
a person locally recognised for their experience, reliability or commitment;
a contributor capable of transmitting a skill or connecting different resources.

Participation in the network is not based solely on a title or institutional status.

It is based on a combination of capabilities, experience, ethics, responsibility and trust.

Becoming or Nominating an Angel

Individuals may apply to join the ANGELS network.

A person, organisation or community may also nominate a contributor whose skills and experience could be valuable to the network.

Integration is not automatic.

Depending on the intended role, capabilities, references, responsibilities and conditions of intervention may be reviewed before integration or involvement in a programme or project.

Human Capability Serving Territories

ANGELS is not intended to create dependency on an external network.

Its purpose is, on the contrary, to help knowledge and capabilities circulate until they can be locally adopted, developed and transmitted.

Connect → Support → Transmit → Strengthen → Enable Autonomy

ANGELS therefore contributes to building human networks capable of evolving alongside projects, communities and territories.
